Bihar Election Results 2025 Live Updates: EVM Counting Starts
During EVM counting, Control Units are brought to the counting tables round-wise and shown to the counting agents to verify that the seals are intact and serial numbers match the records in Form 17C (Part I).
The number of votes recorded in EVMs is cross-verified with entries in Form 17C. In case of any mismatch, VVPAT slips from that polling station are to be counted mandatorily.
After completion of EVM counting, a random selection of five polling stations per constituency is made for VVPAT verification. The slips are matched with EVM results in the presence of candidates and their counting agents.

Bihar Election Results 2025 Live Updates: Tejashwi Alleges Manipulation Even Before Counting
Tejashwi Yadav, the Chief Ministerial candidate of the opposition Mahagathbandhan, on the eve of counting, alleged a BJP plan to manipulate the results.
Speaking at a press conference late Thursday evening, Yadav said, "We have received information that a strategy has been developed to slow down the entire counting process tomorrow, especially in seats where the margins are low".
"Our appeal to all officials, and especially the Election Commission, is that -- count the votes impartially," he added.

In Patna, preparations for laddus and a massive feast are underway. As per the Election Commission of India, there were zero repolls in the Bihar Assembly Elections, 2025. The Section 58 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, empowers the Election Commission to order re-polling in cases where irregularities, booth capturing, or other electoral malpractices are reported.
No re-polls requested by 2,616 candidates this year.

Bihar Election Result 2025 Live Updates: Exit Poll Cues
A poll of major exit polls suggests that the National Democratic Alliance, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is set to retain power in Bihar, whereas the Opposition bloc of Mahagathbandhan is seen as a distant second.
The NDA, co-led by the BJP and JD(U), is poised to win 146 seats, according to an aggregate of 13 major surveys released after the elections. The majority mark is 122 seats.
The Mahagathbandhan, which is led by the RJD-Congress combine, is projected to be restricted to 92 seats, according to the poll of exit polls.
Meanwhile, the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) of poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor is predicted to win only one constituency, despite leading a spirited campaign in the state.

The counting of votes will commence at 8 am across the 243 constituencies of Bihar. As per the precedent, the votes cast through postal ballots are counted first, and then the electronic voting machine (EVM) votes are counted. While the early trends will start emerging minutes after the counting begins, the first set of credible trends will emerge only after 9 am, pollsters say.
