In a move to get timely maintenance payments from residents, a premium township in Gurgaon, Uppal Southend, has announced that residents who have not cleared their dues may face suspension of several everyday services.

According to a report by Indian Express, the restrictions could affect food deliveries, car washing, and maid services until outstanding payments are settled.

The newspaper reported that at the entrance of Uppal Southend, a large yellow board with bold black lettering has been installed, listing the names of residents who have defaulted on their maintenance payments.

“All non-essential services, including maid services, car washes, and food delivery from apps like Zomato and Swiggy, will be stopped immediately until residents settle their outstanding dues,” a notice from the resident welfare association read.

It also urged, “All residents whose payments are due and whose names are displayed on the notice board are requested to clear their outstanding dues at the earliest.”

Additionally, the board mentions social restrictions for defaulters, “RWA social events are not open to defaulters and PG occupants.”

RWA president Col. Surender Kumar Yadav told Indian Express that, “in 2023, we had displayed a similar board and were able to recover lakhs in unpaid dues. This time as well, the dues have accumulated, and no one is raising objections. We are informing residents to clear their payments, while continuing delivery and maid services for workers who serve multiple households.”
