Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt on Friday shared a picture of himself donning a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jersey on Instagram and X. A passionate cricket fan himself, Bolt made his allegiance clear, backing RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the world's premier T20 competition.
In the posts, the world's fastest man sent his best wishes to the defending champions. He said: "Namaskara! @pumaindia sent me the fit so had to represent. Good luck to the team this season 👊❤️ #RCBEverywhere"
Bolt is also a long-time admirer of former RCB skipper and IPL legend Virat Kohli. The cricketer too has praised Bolt on several platforms in the past.
The Bolt-RCB connection dates back to 2021, when he first received the jersey and shared it with the fans. His appearance alongside Kohli and RCB players in a viral reel last year further cemented his place as a global superfan within the RCB community.
In his youth, the Jamaican was an aspiring cricketer and had dreams of being a fast bowler for the West Indies. But one of his cricket coaches noticed his speed and urged him to take up track and field events.
