If trends continue to sustain in Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician, C Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is set to emerge as a key player in the state's political landscape, replacing AIADMK as the principal opposition party.
TVK pushed AIADMK to third position in several constituencies while DMK continued to stay ahead in the race. This clearly indicates TVK could disrupt the long-standing two-party dominance in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay, who contested from two seats, is currently leading in the Tiruchirappalli East Assembly constituency with 12,523 votes. DMK's S. Inigo Irudayaraj was trailing with 7,237 votes after three rounds of vote counting.
In the Perambur constituency, Vijay is leading with 13,061 votes; his top rival, R D Shekhar from DMK, is trailing with 7,196 votes after two rounds of counting.

VIjay's TVK looks set to deliver a big upset in its debut electoral performance, with the party crossing the 100-seat threshold as early trends indicate. The majority mark in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly is 118, suggesting TVK could emerge as a strong player.
According to NDTV, TVK is currently leading in 108 seats, positioning it significantly ahead of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led coalition, which is leading in around 50 seats. The opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-led coalition is lagging with leads in roughly 75 seats.
