- Persistent Systems partners with Nvidia to deploy AI solutions in Healthcare and Life Sciences
- The collaboration targets computational drug discovery using generative AI and advanced analytics
- HLS contributed nearly one-third of Persistent’s Rs 11,940 crore revenue in fiscal 2025
Persistent Systems Ltd. on Tuesday announced a tie-up with US chipmaker Nvidia Corp. for deployment of artificial intelligence-powered solutions in the fast-growing Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) segment. The collaboration will help HLS organisations advance computational drug discovery and improve research outcomes using generative AI and advanced analytics, a statement said.
The HLS segment, which contributed nearly a third of the total Rs 11,940 crore revenue in fiscal 2025, has been one of the fastest growing businesses for Persistent, driven by digital health initiatives and the growing demand for data-driven healthcare solutions, according to the FY25 annual report.
Pune-based Persistent will leverage Nvidia AI Enterprise for specialised Life Sciences R&D use cases, including preclinical research. "By enabling high-fidelity molecular simulation and virtual screening at scale, the collaboration applies AI to model and reason real-world biological and chemical behavior before it is realised in real-world wet laboratory environments," the company said.
Persistent will build and deploy production-grade Agentic AI applications for computational drug discovery using Nvidia tools. The application will deliver AI-driven molecular simulations that model the physical and chemical properties of molecules using large domain-specific models and create intelligent agents to streamline real-time drug discovery workflows. These agentic workflows enable research teams to translate digital simulations into wet laboratory experiments.
To deploy production-grade AI applications, Persistent will use Nvidia accelerated computes, servers, Nvidia AI Enterprise and Nvidia NIM microservices, the statement said.
"Through this collaboration, Persistent will also expand its AI and LLM engineering capabilities by leveraging NVIDIA AI infrastructure, training resources and certification programmes to deliver increasingly sophisticated data and AI platforms for clients," the company said.
