US Forces Disable Unladen Oil Tanker In Gulf Of Oman

US forces disabled an unladen oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman, June 8, after the vessel violated the ongoing blockade against Iran by attempting to sail to an Iranian port, according to a CENTCOM post on X. 

"U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) disabled Palau-flagged M/T Marivex as it transited international waters in the Gulf of Oman toward Iran. An F/A-18 Super Hornet from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) fired a precision munition into the ship's engineering and steering spaces after the crew failed to comply with directions from U.S. forces. Marivex is no longer sailing to Iran. CENTCOM forces have disabled seven non-compliant vessels, redirected 134 ships that complied, and allowed 42 vessels supporting humanitarian aid to pass since initiating the blockade on April 13," the post stated.

EU Imposes Levies On IRGC Unit, Iranian Individuals Over Hormuz Restrictions

The European Union said that it has imposed sanctions on unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and two Iranian individuals for threatening the freedom of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, through which around a fifth of the world’s oil flows.

The move marked the first time the bloc has used new powers to sanction Iran for restricting freedom of navigation.

The EU said in a statement it had added the Hormozgan Provincial Command of the IRGC Navy to its sanctions list, as well as Mohammad Akbarzadeh and Hamid Hosseini.

It said Akbarzadeh is deputy commander for political affairs of the IRGC Navy and Hosseini is a representative of Iran’s Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union.

Iran's IRGC Declares End Of Military Operations Against Israel

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have declared an end to military operations against Israel, according to reports by Fars news agency on Monday. 

The announcement follows renewed aggressions on both sides. Israel conducted fresh strikes on Beirut on Sunday, post which Iran retaliated. 

“Following the aggressions and acts of mischief by the brutal Zionist regime in southern Lebanon and the Dahieh area, carried out with the support of criminal America, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in support of the oppressed people of Lebanon, delivered a painful response to this regime,” Fars quoted the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters as saying.
