Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has hit back at US President Donald Trump, using data on hunger and food insecurity in the United States to challenge what he described as Trump's false claims of victory.
In a post on X, Ghalibaf wrote, “MAKE AMERICA HUNGRY AGAIN!” and accused Trump of trying to “cover up defeats with false claims.”

Ghalibaf shared statistics highlighting food insecurity in the US, including claims that 47 million Americans face hunger every day, one in eight people struggle with hunger and 16 million children in the country go hungry every day.

He also claimed that food insecurity exists in every US county.
“These numbers are not fake like your words,” Ghalibaf wrote, citing data from Feeding America, the US Department of Agriculture and No Kid Hungry.
The sources listed in his post include Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap 2024, the USDA's Household Food Security in the United States, 2023, and No Kid Hungry's estimate of 16 million children facing hunger.
Ghalibaf's post comes amid an escalating war of words between Tehran and Washington, with Trump repeatedly highlighting what he describes as US successes in the conflict.
The Iranian speaker had earlier taken aim at Trump's economic policies in another post, using the word “frozen” to mock the administration's approach.
“Importing frozen meat to fix meat prices. Okay, that might work,” Ghalibaf wrote.
He then asked, “What's the plan for bonds, import frozen yields? Frozen homebuyers for housing? Frozen paychecks for wages?”
“A frozen foreign policy delivers a frozen economy,” he added.
“The only thing still moving? The Iran boomerang,” Ghalibaf wrote.

His latest post focuses on food insecurity in the US, turning domestic economic and social data into a response to Trump's claims about the outcome of the conflict.
