The phone is also tipped to run on a new A20 chip. Reports suggest this chip could be built on a 2nm architecture, which is more advanced than current-generation processors. In simple terms, this could translate to faster speeds without a big hit on battery life. Apps opening quicker and fewer slowdowns during heavy use are some of the expected benefits.
Besides, Apple has been steadily pushing its AI capabilities, and future updates may rely more heavily on on-device processing. Features like a smarter Siri and AI-driven tools will need more power and the iPhone 18 seems designed to support that.
