Government Details Visa Actions Against Pakistanis In India After Exit Order
Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till April 29.
The government on Thursday released details regarding visa actions it announced against Pakistani nationals in India a day prior. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from April 27, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till April 29. India is a prime destination for seeking low-cost medical treatment as the country offers well-trained doctors, surgeons and medical staff, and high-tech diagnostic equipment.
"All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas, as now amended," the MEA said.
Further, the government has advised Indian nationals to avoid travelling to Pakistan. "Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest," the statement said.

Following the fatal terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, India decided to prohibit the issuance of visas to Pakistani nationals and hold the Indus Water Treaty between the two countries in abeyance.
India's tough approach against Pakistan comes a day after terrorists suspected with cross-border links killed 26 tourists in Pahalgam, one of the hotspot for tourists in South Kashmir.
The MEA has decided to ask various Pakistani diplomats stationed in the country to leave, and recall several officials serving at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
The Attari-Wagah border in Punjab will be closed, the ministry further announced.
During a press briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that the Cabinet Committee on Security reviewed the security situation and instructed all forces to maintain high vigilance. "India received strong expressions of support from many countries," he added.
The CCS reviewed the overall security situation and directed all forces to maintain high vigil. It resolved that the perpetrators of the attack would be brought to justice and their sponsors held to account. "As with the recent extradition of Tahawwur Rana, India will be unrelenting in the pursuit of those who have committed acts of terror or conspired to make them possible," Misri said.
