Gold Rate Today: Gold prices remained largely steady across major Indian cities on Friday, May 8, with 24-karat, 22-karat gold rates and silver prices rising marginally.
Among the major Indian cities, Hyderabad recorded highest gold prices, followed by Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
The yellow metal traded 0.11% higher at Rs 1,52,350 per 10 grams, while silver surged 2.56 % to Rs 2,59,738 per kg on Multi commodity exchange of India (MCX) as per Thursday, May 7 closing level.
Gold Prices On May 8
On Friday, gold was steady as hopes that a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz faded following reports of Iran and US targeted each other, reviving inflation concerns. The bullion stood at around $4,700 an ounce, after ending the previous session marginally lower.
In India, 24-karat gold was priced at Rs 1,52,990 per 10 grams at 7:11 am today, while 22-karat gold was priced at Rs 140,241 per 10 grams, according to India Bullions data. Silver prices today are at Rs 2,60,040(Silver 999 Fine), data showed.
