- BSE Index Services launched the BSE Housing Finance Index to track housing finance firms
- The index is derived from BSE 1,000 Index companies classified under housing finance
- It will be reconstituted twice yearly in June and December for accuracy and relevance
BSE Index Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSE Ltd, on Monday announced the launch of the BSE Housing Finance Index, aimed at tracking the performance of companies engaged in the housing finance segment.
The newly launched index is derived from constituents of the BSE 1,000 Index that are classified under housing finance as a basic industry, the company said in a statement.
The BSE Housing Finance Index will be reconstituted semi-annually in June and December.
The index is designed to support passive investment strategies such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and index funds. It can also serve as a benchmark for portfolio management services (PMS), mutual fund schemes, and other investment portfolios, BSE Index Services said in a statement.
With the introduction of this sector-specific index, investors will be able to access a broader spectrum of market opportunities and diversify their investment strategies, it added.
