Bikaji Foods International Q4 Results: Profit Plunges 62%, Margin Contracts

Bikaji Foods International Ltd.'s consolidated net profit slipped 62% in the quarter ended March 31, according to an exchange filing on Thursday.

The company posted a profit of Rs 44.6 crore in the fourth quarter as compared to Rs 116 crore in the same period last year, it said.

Dividend

Bikaji Foods recommended a final dividend of Re 1 per share at a face value of Re 1 each for the financial year ended March 31.

The proposed dividend is subject to the approval from the shareholders of the company at the annual general meeting. The snacks manufacturer has approved Aug. 29 as the record date to decide the shareholders eligible for the proposed dividend.

Bikaji Foods approved an additional investment of up to Rs 15 crore in arm Bikaji Foods Retail Ltd.

The company has authorised the divestment of Bikaji Mega Food Park Pvt. by selling its entire 51% stake, resulting in the company ceasing to be a subsidiary.

Shares of Bikaji Foods closed 1.08% higher at Rs 713.45 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, compared to a 1.6% rise in the benchmark Nifty. The stock has risen 7.52% in the last 12 months but fallen 8.47% on a year-to-date basis.

Six analysts tracking the company recommend a 'buy' rating on the stock, according to Bloomberg data. The average of 12-month analysts' price target implies a potential upside of 6.9%.
