US rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, has been denied permission to travel to the United Kingdom, the government has confirmed. The decision comes amid growing controversy over his planned performance at the upcoming Wireless Festival in London this July, which has now also been cancelled.

According to officials, Ye had recently applied for entry through an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). However, the UK Home Office rejected the application, stating that his presence in the country would not be “conducive to the public good.”

The decision follows ongoing concerns over West's past remarks. Over the last few years, the artist has faced backlash for a series of controversial statements, including comments that have been widely described as anti-Semitic, racist, and supportive of extremist ideologies.

These controversies have previously led to restrictions on his social media accounts and sparked debates across the entertainment industry.

Earlier, Ye had addressed the controversy surrounding his appearance at the festival. In a public statement, he expressed willingness to engage in dialogue, saying he would be open to meeting members of the Jewish community in the UK to listen and reflect.

He also acknowledged that words alone may not be enough and indicated that he intends to demonstrate change through actions. “I know words aren't enough… I'll have to show change through my actions. If you're open, I'm here.”

In response, the Board of Deputies of British Jews said they would consider meeting him, but only under certain conditions. They stressed that the community would need to see “genuine remorse and change” and only if he withdrew from performing at the festival.

At the same time, people in the music industry have shared different opinions. Some organisers say the issue is complicated and involves both artistic freedom and personal behaviour, while others are concerned about how such statements by public figures can affect society.

Ye was scheduled to headline the Wireless Festival, one of the UK's biggest music events, set to take place in London's Finsbury Park. With the UK government's decision now in place and the Wireless Festival now cancelled, Ye's planned visit and any potential performances in the country remain uncertain.

Festival organisers have not yet issued an official response regarding the development.
