Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros has become the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever in Kerala after crossing Rs 122 crore gross in the state. The sequel moved past Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which earlier held the record at about Rs 121.90 crore.

The milestone comes in just over three weeks since release, underlining the film's strong run at the box office. Steady weekday collections helped the film overtake earlier leaders including Lokah and Thudarum.

The latest numbers also strengthen Vaazha 2's position among the biggest Malayalam films worldwide. The film has now grossed around Rs 226.88 crore globally, putting it in competition with titles such as L2: Empuraan, Manjummel Boys and Thudarum.

The strong start helped build word-of-mouth momentum through the first week. Week 1 closed at Rs 55.05 crore net.

Collections remained firm in the second week, with the film adding Rs 41.35 crore net. The third week saw a slower pace, with Week 3 ending at Rs 17.45 crore.

Vaazha 2 is now the fifth Malayalam film to enter the Rs 200 crore global club. It had crossed Rs 100 crore worldwide in its first week and reached Rs 200 crore in around 17 to 18 days.

Its Kerala record shows sustained audience demand beyond opening weekend numbers, a key marker for long theatrical runs.

The film continues to add collections with ongoing theatrical business. Its next focus will be climbing the all-time worldwide rankings among Malayalam releases.
