The Roshan family may soon see its next generation step into cinema. Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan's younger son, 17-year-old Hridaan Roshan, is set to move to the United States after securing admission to the University of Southern California (USC), where he will study film and television production.
The update was first shared by Hridaan's school, the American School of Bombay, which congratulated him with a post on Instagram.
Sharing his photo along with the USC logo, the school wrote, “It's no surprise we'll see Hridaan at USC studying film and TV production. Congratulations, we are so proud.”
The announcement quickly caught attention online, with many sending their best wishes.
Sussanne Khan also expressed her happiness in an emotional note dedicated to her son.
She described Hridaan as her “creative genius” and said the family was incredibly proud of his achievement. In her message, she encouraged him to keep following his passion and to stay true to himself as he begins this new journey.
Members of the film fraternity and extended family also reacted warmly. Zayed Khan praised Hridaan's talent, while Farah Khan congratulated both Hrithik and Sussanne. Several others joined in, celebrating this milestone moment for the young student.
Coming from a family with strong roots in the film industry, Hridaan's choice of filmmaking has naturally sparked interest. He is the grandson of filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and actor Sanjay Khan, while his father Hrithik is now preparing for his directorial debut with Krrish 4. With this background, many see Hridaan's decision as a possible step towards continuing the family's cinematic journey.
Even though Hrithik and Sussanne separated years ago, they have maintained a close bond and continue to co-parent their children –Hrehaan and Hridaan. During the pandemic, they even stayed together for a while to ensure their sons had both parents around.
Sussanne has often spoken about Hrithik's role as a father, once calling him “the best dad ever” in a heartfelt social media post.
