HDFC Life Insurance Co. has reappointed Vibha Padalkar as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for another five-year term, the company informed stock exchanges on Tuesday in a regulatory filing.

The Board of Directors, at its meeting held on Tuesday, approved the reappointment based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. 

Padalkar's new term will take effect from September 12, 2026, for a period of five years, subject to approval of shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

The reappointment cements the continuity of leadership at one of India's largest private life insurers.

The filing highlights a string of landmark milestones under her watch. She was instrumental in the successful listing of HDFC Life on Indian bourses in 2017 and steered the company through the first-ever merger and acquisition transaction in the Indian life insurance sector — a watershed moment for the industry. A dual-qualified Chartered Accountant, Padalkar became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales in 1992 and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Her track record has drawn consistent recognition from India's business community. She was named 'Businesswoman of the Year' at The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence 2025, has featured in Fortune India's 'Most Powerful Women in Business' list for five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025.
