Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that the entry and exit at 45 metro stations will remain closed from 9 pm on Friday, Oct 9 through 6 pm on Saturday, Oct 10. The DMRC announced the closure in a post on X. “Due to security reasons, the entry and exit at the following metro stations will remain closed from 09:00 PM on 9th October, 2026 and continuing on 10th October, 2026 till further notice,” the agency said.
Are Schools, Colleges Open Or Closed?
Many schools and colleges in Delhi have reportedly shifted to online classes, posponed parent-teacher meetings and examinations scheduled for October 10. Sardar Patel Vidyalaya has shifted Classes 6 to 12 online on Saturday, while Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School Parent has postponed its parent-teacher meeting (PTM) scheduled for Saturday, PTI reported.

Will Liquor Shops Be Open Or Closed?
All liquor retail outlets across Delhi will remain closed on October 9 and 10. This will cover retail outlets selling Indian, foreign and country liquor, along with some outlets in malls. Licensed restaurants, bars and clubs will continue to serve liquor, NDTV reported citing an excise department official.
Are Namo Bharat Stations Shut?
Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat stations will be closed from 9 pm on Friday, Oct 9 till 10 pm on Saturday, Oct 10. Namo Bharat train services between Anand Vihar (Delhi) and Modipuram (UP) stations will continue to operate unhindered as per schedule during this time.
Update On Railways
Indian Railways has announced suspension of train services at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations, from 4 am to 2 pm on Saturday, October 10, referring to possible traffic congestion. Mail and Express trains expected to arrive during this window will be cancelled at their originating stations.
