The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a stern advisory to teachers involved in the ongoing evaluation of the 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, cautioning them against sharing any details of the marking process on social media. The board said it had identified several posts circulating online that contained misleading or factually incorrect claims about the evaluation system.
According to CBSE, some individuals - including examiners - have been publicly sharing opinions and personal experiences related to answer sheet assessment, potentially creating confusion among students and parents.
CBSE warned that such behaviour compromises the confidentiality of the evaluation process and could undermine trust in the examination system.

CBSE Prohibits Sharing of Evaluation Information
In its notice, CBSE stressed: "The evaluation process is confidential and governed by strict protocols. Sharing any misleading information, experiences, or opinions related to evaluation on public platforms is strictly prohibited."
The advisory comes amid reports of misinformation being spread during this year's board examinations. The Ministry of Education recently reported nearly 20 incidents of fabricated news and rumor-mongering, according to Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary's statement in the Lok Sabha.
Misuse of CBSE Name, Logo Also Flagged
In a separate communication, CBSE said it had observed individuals unaffiliated with the evaluation process sharing deceptive claims online while using the CBSE name, logo, or images of its buildings. The board clarified that such usage is strictly prohibited and intended to mislead the public.
The notice said, “Individuals are not allowed to use the name of CBSE, the CBSE logo, or images of CBSE buildings to create confusion or mislead the public.”

CBSE Urges Students and Parents to Avoid Unverified Information
The board urged students, parents, and stakeholders not to rely on unverified content circulating on social media. It reiterated that all official announcements related to exams and assessment will only be released through authorised CBSE channels and the board's official website.
CBSE also noted that it works closely with CERT-In, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), and major social media platforms to detect and curb misinformation. A dedicated team monitors misleading posts and coordinates with platforms to have them removed when necessary.
