Ramayana Live Updates: Sunil Lahiri's Reaction
Actor Sunil Lahri, best known for playing Lakshman in the iconic television series Ramayan, has voiced his support for Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor.
Speaking about the film, Lahri said, "Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana will soon be presented to audiences. Many people have asked me to share my views, perhaps because I was once associated with Ramayan. Times have changed. I haven't seen the film, nor am I an expert on the subject. How can I criticise such a great epic? Ramayana is not only significant for Indians but for humanity as a whole."
While extending his support to the project, Lahri admitted he was underwhelmed by parts of its music despite the involvement of celebrated composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
"There is culture, tradition, sentiment, emotion and faith associated with Ramayana. We must preserve this heritage. I have complete faith in Nitesh ji. He is a capable filmmaker who has delivered excellent films in the past. The entire team has worked hard and I believe they have made a good film," he said.

"'Ramayana' is a story that belongs to every Indian household, and it has the potential to be one of the biggest theatrical successes in Indian cinema. We expect the opening weekend through Diwali to be on par with, or ahead of, the biggest openers we have seen. This is also a film that will keep growing over weeks as families and repeat audiences come in through the festive and holiday season," Munshi told PTI.
According to Munshi, demand at Miraj cinemas is particularly strong in Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, while Tier-2 markets are tracking ahead of expectations.

Ramayana Live Updates: Ramayana Cannot Be Compared To Dhurandhar, Says Exhibitor
Film exhibitor Vishek Chauhan said "Ramayana" cannot be judged by conventional film review standards because a section of the audience will approach it through devotion and reverence. "You cannot call "Ramayana" a classic film like 'Dhurandhar', 'Border' or 'Baahubali', this is a different genre of filmmaking. This is about religion, it is faith-based cinema.
"It is about the biggest deity in this country, Lord Ram... a huge audience will watch it as a piece of faith. If that faith connects, then there's no stopping for this film. It is a review and critic-proof film (in that sense)," the exhibitor told PTI.
Ramayana Live Updates: Nitesh Tiwari On Designing Pushpak Viman
Director Nitesh Tiwari said they went through 40 to 50 designs before finalising the lotus shaped version of the 'Pushpak Viman' depicted in the movie that Ravan flies after abducting Sita and taking her to Lanka. It is in the shape of a lotus.
"It took us so long to shape the Ravana and Jatayu fight. Because previously, we assumed the design of Pushpak Viman would be something different and we shaped the sequence around it. And when we loved the final design, which was completely different from what we had first thought, we had to do a lot of iterations," he said.
"We created some 40-50 designs for Pushpak Viman before finalising the one you see in the film. We didn't want something that did look like it could fly, we wanted some kind of science to go into it. Because I believe, we all believe there was science behind everything that happened that time," he added.
