For both Q2 2026 and H1 2026, Mercedes-Benz India posted retail numbers that broke previous records. The luxury automaker sold 9,768 cars between January and June of 2026, a 9% year-over-year (y-o-y) increase over the 9,013 units sold during the same time the previous year.

Additionally, the company reported its highest-ever April-June sales, with retail volumes up 10% year over year to 4,637 units from 4,238 units during the same time last year.

New product introductions, consistent consumer demand across its core and top-end portfolio, and ongoing improvements in customer experience, according to the company, all contributed to the result, reports said.

The growing demand for Mercedes-Benz's priciest models contributed significantly to the company's success in the first half of the year. During H1 2026, sales of the company's premium luxury portfolio—which includes the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach range, Mercedes-AMG lineup, and the freshly introduced V-Class—grew by more than 20% year over year.

A record 28% of the company's overall sales came from these cars.

With a 50% year-over-year rise in sales in the first half of the year, the performance-focused Mercedes-AMG brand also maintained its robust growth trajectory. The demand for some high-end models is still greater than the supply, with waiting times ranging from four months for some models to up to a year for the renowned AMG G 63.

Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, commented on the performance, saying that the company's expansion is a result of its strategy of providing desirable products while enhancing customer involvement.

Mercedes-Benz intends to use its "Go to Customer" strategy to expand its retail presence in India in the future. In addition to extending its footprint in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad, the firm reportedly plans to open more than 20 luxury stores throughout the nation in 2026, including its first location in Varanasi.
