Stock Market Live: India Could See Better Foreign Flows As Crude Prices Ease, says Trinh Nguyen
Trinh Nguyen told NDTV Profit that India has been impacted by the Iran war and elevated crude oil prices. However, falling crude prices have improved market sentiment, while Democrats' victory in the US midterm elections has emerged as a key tailwind. She noted that the war has been unpopular in the US.
Nguyen said the AI build-up in Asia has benefited South Korea's market, while the AI theme could cool down but is unlikely to disappear. She added that AI-related headcount reductions and concerns over a potential bubble have weighed on sentiment in the technology sector.
On India, she said the country could see improved foreign flows and risk appetite. The rupee remains a crucial factor for foreign investor flows, although India currently has significant offshore liquidity. She added that markets appear confident about India's ability to manage the rupee.
Nguyen said buying stocks at expensive valuations is not necessarily a concern, pointing to US investors continuing to buy despite high valuations.
