Indian equity benchmars erased gains after gaining in the morning session, resuming gains after a one-day breather. The NSE Nifty 50 closed 0.09% or 22.80 points higher at 24,074.85, while the BSE Sensex rose 0.16% or 120.26 points to end at 77,175.20.

Stock Market Wrap: Nifty Ends Higher As Broader Markets Outperform

  • Nifty 50 ended over 0.1% higher, led by gains in UltraTech Cement and Eternal. The Nifty Midcap 150 rose nearly 0.5%, while the Nifty Smallcap 250 gained almost 0.75%.
  • L&T Technology Services and Gujarat Fluorochemicals led mid-cap gains, while Nuvoco Vistas and Ather Energy topped the small-cap index.

  • India’s plan to expand the use of bio-stimulants and bio-pesticides could face challenges due to a shortage of trained workers, Agriculture Commissioner P K Singh said.
  • Singh called for specialised courses covering biological distillation and fermentation systems across diploma, degree, postgraduate and doctoral levels. He said workers in chemical fertiliser and pesticide production may not have the skills required for biological manufacturing.

  • Landmark Cars gained more than 10% after reporting its highest-ever first-quarter sales for Q1 FY27. Vehicle sales increased 24% during the quarter, taking the stock to its highest level since November 2025. The stock has risen over 20% in the last two sessions.
  • Bajaj Consumer remained under pressure after management indicated margins could be affected in Q2 due to high-cost inventory. The stock is on a three-day losing streak and has declined nearly 20% over the period. Management expects conditions to improve from Q3 onwards.

  • The service will initially go live in Bengaluru and marks the debut of HPCL's new 10-kg composite LPG cylinder, HP Navya.
  • Consumers will be able to order both the HP Navya cylinder and the existing 5-kg LPG cylinder on Instamart without requiring an existing LPG connection.

  • Knack Packaging said it plans to start operations at a new manufacturing unit from October 2027.
  • The company said demand currently exceeds its production capacity, with capacity utilisation at 95-99%.
