Benchmark indices ended with minor losses after a volatile session. The NSE Nifty 50 closed down 0.03% at 23,907.15, falling 6.55 points after a volatile session. The BSE Sensex declined 0.19% to 75,867.80, down 141.90 points.
Meanwhile, Brent crude fell 2.3% to $97.30 per barrel, while WTI crude declined 2.8% to $91.23 per barrel.
Elsewhere, European indices trade higher. Spain's IBEX 35 rose 0.80%, while Germany's DAX gained 0.61% and France's CAC 40 was up 0.65%. Italy's FTSE MIB advanced 0.33%, and the STOXX Europe 600 index edged higher by 0.31%. The FTSE 100 was largely flat, down 0.00%.
Nifty 50 ended marginally lower, down 0.03%, while broader markets outperformed with the Nifty MidCap 150 rising over 0.4% and the Nifty SmallCap 250 up over 0.5%.
Adani Total Gas and Cummins led gains in the midcap index, while Jayaprakash Power Ventures and Zee Entertainment rose sharply in the smallcap space.
Sectoral indices were mixed, with Nifty Energy gaining nearly 2%, while Financial Services declined over 0.5%, with BSE and HDFC Bank among the key laggards.
Cummins India shares rose 8.42% to Rs 5,875, with an intraday high of Rs 5,899 and a low of Rs 5,402.50.
Revenue increased 22.6% year-on-year to Rs 3,012 crore, while EBITDA rose 23.5% to Rs 642 crore, with margin at 21.3%. Net profit grew 27% to Rs 202 crore.
The company declared a final dividend of Rs 46 per share.

Goldiam International’s board has approved a bonus issue of one share for every three shares held, according to an exchange filing.
The Coal India offer for sale was subscribed 0.34 times, including the greenshoe option.
Jupiter Wagons’ arm has signed a 10-year supply agreement with European rail company Tatravagonka.

Sky Gold’s consolidated revenue rose 80.7% year-on-year to Rs 1,912 crore from Rs 1,058 crore.
EBITDA increased to Rs 141 crore from Rs 62.6 crore, while margin expanded to 7.4% from 5.9%.
Net profit rose to Rs 84.3 crore from Rs 38.2 crore, with other income at Rs 16.6 crore versus Rs 4.8 crore a year ago.
Vodafone Idea shares rose as much as 1.1% to Rs 14.29 on Wednesday, extending gains for the seventh straight session.
The stock has gained 10% over seven sessions and is trading at its highest level since September 2024.
The relative strength index stood at 85, indicating the stock may be overbought.
Nifty Media rose 3.67%, leading sectoral gains, followed by Nifty Metal, up 1.9%.
Nifty Energy, Realty, Auto and Consumption also traded higher, with gains ranging from 0.42% to 0.87%.
Nifty Financial Services fell 0.36%, while Oil & Gas, Bank, FMCG, IT and India Defence indices also traded lower.

Nordic financial institutions and investors have urged the European Union to maintain its opposition to new Arctic oil and gas drilling, Al Jazeera reported.
The appeal comes as the EU reviews alternative energy options amid the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the wider impact of the Iran war.
Nordea Asset Management said further oil and gas expansion in the Arctic would increase risks to vulnerable ecosystems through oil spills and leakages.
LIC shares traded 3.02% lower at Rs 829.05, after falling to an intraday low of Rs 818.85.
The stock recovered from the day’s low after Bloomberg reported that the government is preparing a stake sale in the company.
The stock had touched a high of Rs 855, compared with the previous close of Rs 854.90.

ONGC has deferred issuing production volume guidance for FY27.
The government plans to sell about 2% in the insurer to institutional investors in late June or early July.
The government owned 96.5% of LIC as of March 31, while the insurer has 10 years from its 2022 listing to meet the 25% minimum public shareholding requirement.
Nifty rose as much as 0.3% to 23,983.20 in a volatile session, after falling as much as 0.2% to 23,868.50 earlier in the day.
Sensex gained as much as 0.3% to 76,224.68, after touching an intraday low of 75,797.
The 30-stock index recovered over 400 points from the day’s low.
The Enforcement Directorate carried out raids in Bengaluru in connection with the alleged Exalogic-CMRL financial irregularities and money laundering case, NDTV Profit reported.
Searches were conducted simultaneously in Kerala and Bengaluru after ED registered a case involving alleged illegal money transfer and bribery.
In Bengaluru, raids were carried out at six locations, including the Exalogic office and residences of some employees linked to the company.
ICICI Securities told NDTV Profit that defence and energy remain in focus amid recurring geopolitical crises, while discretionary spending and industrials have not been impacted by the war.

The southwest monsoon has not yet set in over Kerala, after IMD had forecast its arrival around May 26 with a model error of four days.
IMD said the northern limit of the monsoon remained unchanged as of May 26.
Conditions are favourable for the monsoon to advance into more parts of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and remaining parts of the Andaman Sea over the next two to three days.

Jefferies said higher spending on petroleum and fertiliser subsidies and lower oil tax revenue could impact government finances by Rs 1.25–1.5 trillion, with part of the burden shared with states and oil marketing companies. It expects offsetting measures through lower non-defence capex and higher disinvestment, with oil marketing companies seen at break-even at $85–87 per barrel and scope for fuel price increases.
