The GIFT Nifty, an early indicator of Nifty 50's performance, traded at 23,768. On Thursday, Indian equity benchmarks ended higher for the second consecutive trading session. The Nifty 50 ended 277 points, or 1.18%, higher at 23,689.60, while the Sensex rose 789.74 points, or 1.06%, to 75,398.72 amid F&O expiry.
Meanwhile, Oil prices moved higher on Friday, with Brent crude trading towards $107 a barrel and heading for a weekly gain of about 5%. U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate traded near $102 a barrel, as disruptions linked to the Iran conflict continued to affect global supplies.
Elsewhere, South Korea's Kospi crossed the 8,000 mark for the first time on Friday, rising more than 0.6% in early trade. The small-cap Kosdaq fell 0.4%. Japan's Nikkei 225 gained 0.89%, while the Topix rose 1.18%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 advanced 0.42%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng futures traded at 26,341, below the previous close of 26,389.04.
