The massive success of Dhurandhar The Revenge has clearly become the talk of the industry — and comedian Zakir Khan turned that buzz into one of the most memorable moments at the Chetak Screen Awards 2026, which was held on Sunday in Mumbai.

Taking the stage as co-host alongside Alia Bhatt, Sunil Grover and Saurabh Dwivedi, Zakir brought his trademark humour to the event, taking a playful dig at how Bollywood has been reacting to the film's record-breaking run.

Pointing at the flood of appreciation posts and public praise for the film, he joked, “No matter how many congratulatory posts you put up, no matter how many Stories you share, no matter how often you say in interviews that it's your favourite film — the truth is, everyone is jealous of Dhurandhar."

His comment instantly struck a chord, drawing laughter from the audience while also hinting at the competitive undercurrent within the industry.

Adding another punchline, Zakir said, “Bombs may have gone off in Lyari, but the smoke is rising all the way from Bandra to Juhu." The clever line linked the film's plot to Mumbai's film circles, making the audience cheer even louder.

Soon after, videos of his act began circulating online, with social media buzzing over the moment. Many users called it “honest” and “fearless,” while others felt the joke reflected a reality that few openly admit.

At the same time, Dhurandhar The Revenge, led by Ranveer Singh, continues to set new benchmarks at the box office. The film has crossed Rs 1,000 crore nett in India and over Rs 1,600 crore worldwide, making it one of the biggest blockbusters in Hindi cinema. Even after more than two weeks in theatres, it continues to draw strong crowds.

With such unprecedented success, Dhurandhar 2 has not only dominated theatres but also become a hot topic within Bollywood — something Zakir Khan captured perfectly with his humour-filled roast.
