Television actor Rubina Dilaik has spoken candidly about the harsh comments she faced about her appearance during the early years of her career. Ahead of her return to Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15, the actor reflected on the insecurities she battled after being told she did not have the face of a lead heroine.
Rubina, who was previously seen on the stunt-based reality show in 2022 during Season 12, is now among the contestants in the upcoming edition hosted by Rohit Shetty.

‘I Never Had Confidence In My Looks'
In an interview with Screen, Rubina shared that accepting herself took years because of constant scrutiny over her appearance. Recalling the remarks she received after entering the television industry, the actor said she was often mocked for carrying “baby fat.”
“When I came into the industry, I carried baby fat; people used to call me ‘Himachali seb,'” she said, adding that comments about her “baby chin” deeply affected her confidence.
The actor also remembered one particularly hurtful interaction with a director. According to Rubina, the filmmaker told her, “Your face is so negative, you should do negative roles. I don't think anybody will cast you in a positive role or as a protagonist.”
Rubina admitted those remarks stayed with her for a long time. She revealed that she had braces at the time and constantly questioned whether she was “good enough” to fit the industry's beauty standards.
The actor explained that self-acceptance became a gradual journey.

“I felt if I had to look like others, then I am not Rubina Dilaik,” she said. The actor added that embracing her individuality also became important because she wanted to set the right example for her daughters.
