A football legend and a superhero have come together in Sony Pictures' latest promotional campaign. Ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the studio has unveiled a special teaser featuring Lionel Messi alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man, giving fans an unexpected crossover that has quickly gone viral online.
What Happens In The Teaser?
Unlike a regular movie trailer, the new promo tells a short, playful story. Peter Parker is seen relaxing at a café and chatting on the phone when Messi suddenly appears with a device called a "Spidey Tracker," hoping to find Spider-Man.
Realising who is looking for him, Peter quietly slips away, changes into his Spider-Man suit and returns moments later. The clip ends with Spider-Man taking the Argentine captain soaring above the city on a web-swinging adventure, leaving Messi smiling as the two disappear across the skyline.

Messi's Marvel Connection
Released as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, the teaser arrived just before Argentina's knockout-stage clash with Cape Verde on Friday.
The teaser has generated plenty of excitement among both Marvel fans and football lovers.
The new teaser also recalls Messi's viral 2023 Spider-Man-inspired goal celebration after scoring in Inter Miami's 4-0 win over Charlotte during the Leagues Cup.
