Actor Alia Bhatt, after disclosing in 2024 that she battles with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or ADHD, shared a candid update on social media that the condition has been making it hard for her to stay focused in her daily life lately. In an Instagram note on Tuesday, Alia said, “The last few weeks have been a bit challenging getting into my days with focus (hello ADHD) but this morning was just everything.”
The actor, however, also shared a heartwarming moment that helped lift her spirits. As part of her extended birthday celebrations, her close friends organised a special padel session—an activity she has recently grown fond of. Posting pictures from the outing, she wrote, “Birthday celebrations continue with the best best mamas/ladies playing a lot of padel.”
Expressing gratitude, she added, “There's just something about women showing up for you (and playing two hours of padel because you reaaallllyyy wanted to!!)”— highlighting how the gesture brought her joy amid a challenging phase.
Alia has been vocal about her ADHD diagnosis in the past. She had revealed that she underwent a professional evaluation over several days before being diagnosed with both ADHD and anxiety. Speaking about her experience earlier, she said, “I was finding it very hard… my body was heating up at social gatherings and I was physically responding to it.”
She also shared that the diagnosis brought her a sense of clarity. “Strangely, I felt happy because my ADHD diagnosis gave me information… once I became aware of these things, dealing with them became much simpler,” she had said, adding that she is not currently on medication and is working on managing it herself.

Her openness around mental health has been consistent over the years. Alia has often highlighted the importance of acknowledging such struggles, a perspective also shaped by her sister Shaheen Bhatt, who has publicly shared her journey with depression.
Other Actors With ADHD
Bhatt is not alone in publicly disclosing her ADHD diagnosis. Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil revealed that he was diagnosed at 41, showing that the condition can often go unnoticed until later in life. Kohhra fame Barun Sobti had revealed last year that he also has ADHD. Actor Prateik Smita Patil has also shared that he has been dealing with ADHD since childhood and continues to manage it as an adult, while urging people to overcome the stigma around therapy.
