Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in the UK has introduced merit-based scholarships that provide up to 50% tuition fee assistance for qualified Indian candidates. As the trend of studying abroad continues to grow among Indian students, the UK university has launched a novel scholarship initiative aimed at lowering the financial burden of international education
This initiative comes at a moment when a rising number of Indian students are pursuing global degrees that blend academic instruction with career-oriented experience.

NTU stated that the broadened scholarship offerings are designed to enhance access to its programs while simultaneously appealing to high-achieving candidates from India, which has now become the university's largest cohort of international students.
The scholarships will be granted based on academic excellence, leadership capabilities, and the overall applicant profile.
NTU's Excellence Scholarships
For undergraduate students, the scholarship encompasses a 50% or 25% tuition fee waiver during the first year, followed by £3,000 per annum for the remainder of the degree. Over the entire span of the program, students can receive as much as £15,350 (approximately Rs 19 lakh) (50%) or £10,675 (around Rs 13.2 lakh) (25%) in financial aid.
Postgraduate students may qualify for scholarships ranging from £2,000 to £12,500, contingent on the specific program and their academic credentials.

In addition to the Excellence Scholarships, Indian students may apply for various other funding options provided by the university.

- MBA Excellence Scholarship: up to 50% tuition fee assistance
These options cater to students at different academic levels and fields of study.
Application procedure and timelines
Submissions will undergo evaluation in three phases, with due dates set for March 25, April 22, and June 24, 2026. The institution recommended that candidates submit their applications in the initial phases to provide ample time for visa processing and academic readiness.
This scholarship initiative is part of NTU's comprehensive commitment to expanding access to international education for Indian students while enhancing its global student body.
