The India AI Impact Summit 2026, starting next week in New Delhi, is set to be a landmark global gathering on artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. The Summit will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, innovators and technology experts from across the world.
Announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit, it will be the first global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. One of the largest among the four global AI summits held so far, the Summit has attracted significant high-level engagement. It is expected to witness the participation of 15-20 heads of government, over 50 ministers, as well as more than 40 global and Indian CEOs.

The event is scheduled to take place in the national capital from Feb. 16 to Feb. 20. Prime Minister Modi is expected to formally inaugurate the summit. He is also scheduled to convene a roundtable with leading CEOs, underscoring the country's priority towards artificial intelligence.

Feb. 16: The India AI Expo will bring together innovators, startups and industry leaders under one roof. The day is aimed at framing national priorities and sparking collaborations. The opening day will be marked by keynote addresses, policy-focused panel discussions and expert roundtables.
Feb. 17: High-level panel discussions will continue on the second day with a focus on sectoral dialogues across priority domains. On this day, the launch of flagship Knowledge Compendiums will take place along with a seminar on Applied AI.
Feb. 18: The third day is aimed at bridging research and practice. A one-day 'Research Symposium on AI and its Impact' will take place. Leading academics, researchers and think tanks are expected to showcase AI research, emerging methodologies and evidence-based policy insights. Also, there will be dedicated industry sessions involving global technology leaders, startups and sector experts. The discussions will focus on scalable solutions and future-ready innovations.
Feb. 19: The formal opening ceremony scheduled on this day will be led by Prime Minister Modi. A high-level CEO Roundtable is also slated. It will feature global industry leaders, investors and policymakers, with a key focus on strategic priorities, investment pathways and the future of responsible AI. The Leaders' Plenary will bring together several national and international decision-makers under one roof to share collective commitments and define the country's leadership in the AI decade ahead.
Feb. 20: High-level GPAI Council Meetings will be hosted with member countries for reviewing progress, aligning priorities and strengthening multilateral cooperation on responsible and inclusive AI. Moreover, the Leaders' Declaration will be adopted, which is expected to affirm collective commitments and outline a shared roadmap for global AI governance.
