The Indian Metrological Department, on Tuesday, said that Cyclone Biparjoy is now completely detached from the monsoonal flow and will not adversely impact the advance of the rain-bearing system or its performance.

Cyclone Biparjoy can do extensive damage, with Kutch, Dwarka and Jamnagar districts likely to receive the worst of the weather system, PTI reported the India Meteorological Department as saying. The weather department predicted extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in in these districts on June 15.

Civilians have been evacuated to safety before Biparjoy makes landfall. Companies, including ONGC, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, and Gujarat Pipapav Port, have stopped ports and oil drilling operations in the Arabian Sea.
