IndiGo plans to fly Singapore from Hyderabad, Bengaluru

No-frills carrier IndiGo today said it is mulling to commence flight services to Singapore from Hyderabad and Bengaluru to expand its presence in the international market.

Mumbai:

No-frills carrier IndiGo today said it is mulling to commence flight services to Singapore from Hyderabad and Bengaluru to expand its presence in the international market.

The airline has already announced that it will commence a non-stop daily air service between Chennai and Singapore from March.

"We are also exploring flight operations to Singapore from Hyderabad and Bengaluru in near future. Our affordable fares on these new routes (Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad) will further grow the market and benefit travellers," IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh said in a release.

The bookings for the Chennai-Singapore flight, to be launched from March 1, have already begun from yesterday, it said.

IndiGo, the largest carrier by domestic market share with 27.3 per cent in November, operates 373 daily flights across 33 destinations with a fleet of 61 aircraft.

"There are strong trade and tourism ties between southern region of India and Singapore and travellers have requirements of low fares by an Indian airline. The new flight aims to cater to this segment of travellers," Mr Ghosh said.

With the introduction of the air service to Singapore from Chennai, both corporate and leisure travellers will now have the opportunity to experience the matchless on-time performance of the airline, he added.
