Yash is set to return to the big screen with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, and the film is already seeing a good response in advance bookings ahead of its August 26 release.

Toxic has collected Rs 4.36-crore gross so far in advance bookings for Day 1 across India, excluding blocked seats. With blocked seats included, the total goes up to Rs 9.47 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. So far, the film has sold 91,301 tickets across 5,360 shows.

Karnataka Leads

The Kannada version is ahead in advance sales, earning Rs 3.21 crore from 62,840 tickets across 791 shows. Karnataka is leading the advance booking with Rs 3.23 crore (Rs 5.95 crore with blocked seats), recording 26% occupancy across 804 shows.

Bengaluru has brought in Rs 2.36 crore in advance bookings (Rs 4.65 crore with blocked seats), with 22% occupancy across 561 shows. Tumakuru has recorded the highest occupancy at 83%, while Mysuru, Hubballi and Shivamogga have also seen strong advance booking.

Eyes Bigger Hindi Opening

The Hindi version has earned Rs 1.15 crore from 28,461 tickets across 4,569 shows. The National Capital Region is leading the Hindi markets with Rs 16.79 lakh, followed by Mumbai with Rs 11.85 lakh.

According to Sacnilk's trade analysis, Toxic was initially expected to open in the Rs 20 crore net range in Hindi. However, the early advance booking trend suggests that the film could earn more if the momentum continues. It could even target an opening of around Rs 30 crore or more.

The film also has no major Hindi release competing directly with it. Yash's popularity after the success of the KGF films and the buzz around the trailer could further help its opening.

Toxic has received an A certificate with reportedly no cuts. Its runtime is 3 hours and 14 minutes, making it one of the longest Kannada films.

Momentum Builds

With strong advance sales in Karnataka and a promising start in Hindi, Toxic is heading towards release with good momentum. The next few days will show whether the advance booking trend can turn into a big opening at the box office.
