Hours after the temporary ceasefire announcement, US President Donald Trump said the United States will assist with traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz, while adding that Iran can begin reconstruction process.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they've had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else! The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz."
He also assured, "There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process. We'll be loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just “hangin' around” in order to make sure that everything goes well. I feel confident that it will. Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!"
In another post on Truth Social, Trump said US forces have been asked to step back, just hours after issuing stark warnings of escalation. Trump said he had suspended planned strikes in Iran for two weeks, calling it a "double sised ceasefire," subject to Iran agreeing to completely open Strait of Hormuz, a key connectivity route for global trade.
The route was closed in March 2026 by Iran in retaliation to US-Israel airstrikes, resulting in a signifcant disruption of global energy supplies.
He also mentioned the reason for calling off attacks, as all the military objectives have been met, while US also received a 10 point proposal from Iran.
