A Bank of Baroda (BoB) probationary officer has set social media abuzz with a video offering a glimpse into the attractive salary structure and extensive perks that a career in public sector banking offers.
Pankaj Kumar Das, who secured his position after clearing the IBPS PO examination, shared his first salary slip from May 2025. It reveals an in-hand amount of Rs 98,745, which Das clarified was the remuneration for 40 days of work, rather than a standard 30-day cycle.

Pay Structure
Das's video detailing his pay structure and perks sparked an online discussion on the job stability, compensation benefits and lifestyle that a career in the goverment banking sector offers.
The payslip provides a granular view of gross earnings before deductions, including key components such as basic pay, House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Dearness Allowance (DA).
Beyond the monthly salary, Das detailed an extensive line-up of benefits that covers almost every aspect of daily life. These include leased accommodation, house maintenance, and allowances for petrol, mobile, and data recharges.
The list of perks extends to lifestyle and wellness expenses, covering everything from newspaper and entertainment allowances to refreshment costs and medical support, even including specific provisions for eye check-ups.
Viral Video
Das posted the video with the caption, "This is my 40-day salary slip,"

Beyond the monthly allowances, Das highlighted significant "hidden" advantages, such as the facility to encash unused privilege leave, providing a substantial lumpsum boost, and exclusive access to a nationwide network of bank guest houses and holiday homes for affordable vacations.
Das, who cleared the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) examination, also cleared the RRB CSA examination. His video suggests that the value of a Probationary Officer's role lies in these institutional safeguards, which offer a level of stability and work-life support often missing in the private sector.
