Threat of Cyberattack Prevents Online Vote for Overseas French

None

(Bloomberg) -- French citizens living abroad were told they won't be able to cast a vote online during the June legislative elections to prevent potential cyberattacks.

Ballots will have to be cast in person due to the “extremely high-level threat of cyber attacks,” the government ministry that oversees voting said in a statement Monday.

In presidential elections, voters must cast a paper ballot, according to the ministry. France's two-round legislative election is scheduled for June 11 and 18 and the presidential election is slated for April 23 and May 7.
