Samsung has launched its latest book-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Boasting a sturdier hinge, a barely-there display crease, powerful new camera, and other advanced tech, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 stands up tall against other foldables, including Google's best: the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Thinness: At 5.1mm (unfolded) and 10.5mm (folded), the Pixel 9 Pro Fold was one of the thinnest foldables around, but not anymore. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures just 4.2mm in its unfolded avatar and 8.9mm when folded, beating the former hands down.
Lightness: With its heavier 257 gm form, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold again bites the dust against the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which weighs merely 215 gm.
Display: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 7 go neck-on-neck with their 8-inch main displays, but the latter's 6.5-inch cover display with 21:9 aspect ratio is a tad bigger than the 6.3 inch on the former. The Galaxy Z Fold 7's display is almost creaseless as well, looking better than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's.
Camera: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold sports a triple-camera setup — 48MP main, 10.5MP ultrawide, and 10.8MP telephoto — with great picture quality. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 goes ahead in optics as well, with its powerful 200MP primary camera, 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP selfie shooter with 100-degree field of view.
Chipset: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is powered by the Tensor G4 chip, which uses a 4nm process. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs the more advanced 3nm chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which offers superior performance.
