Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang believes young people should use artificial intelligence (AI) agents to organise their lives and work towards ambitions that may otherwise seem difficult to achieve. Speaking to entrepreneur and podcast host David Senra, Wang explained how he uses Meta's Muse AI as a “second brain” to set up workflows and manage tasks.

Unlike conventional AI chatbots that mainly answer questions, AI agents can plan and carry out tasks with limited human intervention, depending on their capabilities and the permissions granted by users.

How AI Agents Could Help Young People

Wang believes personal AI agents can help people overcome everyday obstacles and focus on their larger goals. By delegating routine tasks, organising ideas and creating actionable plans, young people could spend more time developing projects and pursuing their interests. He encouraged young people to use AI to make their ambitions more achievable, rather than treating the technology merely as a tool for finding information or completing assignments.

Why Meta Is Betting On Personal AI

Meta is focusing on personal AI agents rather than limiting their use to professional tasks such as coding. Wang said the company sees an opportunity to build AI tools around people's everyday lives, interests and relationships. Meta's Muse is designed to help users manage tasks, work towards goals and handle activities across connected applications. The company aims to develop what it calls personal superintelligence: AI that understands individual needs and helps people achieve their objectives.

The growing focus on personal AI also raises questions about how much responsibility people should hand over to automated systems. As these tools gain access to personal information and everyday applications, their long-term success will depend on whether users can trust them to act reliably, protect their privacy and remain under human control.
