While the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series is still a few months away, a wave of insider reports has shed light on the devices' possible specifications. Early indications cover everything from pricing strategy and screen enhancements to processing upgrades and colour variants.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max Release Date
According to Forbes, the tech giant is certain to stick to its traditional September launch window for new iPhones. This year's line-up is tipped to include three models: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a much-anticipated foldable device that may debut as the iPhone Ultra, though the iPhone Fold branding is still under consideration.
Apple has built a reputation for sticking to a predictable sales schedule. Its flagship iPhones typically go on sale on the Friday following the launch keynote.
By that pattern, this year's release is likely to fall on either Sept.18 or 25. The earlier date appears more probable, although the rumoured iPhone Ultra could arrive slightly later, given the added manufacturing challenges associated with foldable displays.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max Pricing
In a research note seen by 9to5Mac, analyst Jeff Pu indicates that Apple may lean towards “aggressive pricing” for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This should be true at least for the base models. Such a strategy implies the company could keep prices largely unchanged or implement only minimal increases over earlier models.
For context, the iPhone 17 Pro Max was introduced at Rs 1,49,900 for 256GB, with prices climbing to Rs 1,69,900, Rs 1,89,900 and Rs 2,29,900 for the 512GB, 1TB and 2TB options.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max Design
As per 9to5Mac, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to stick closely to the existing design blueprint, and a handful of changes may set it apart visually. These include a slimmer Dynamic Island, a streamlined rear design, and fresh colour variants. By embedding Face ID hardware beneath the display, Apple is likely to achieve its most compact screen cut-out in years.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max Colours
According to Macworld, a new “Dark Cherry” colour option is expected to headline Apple's iPhone 18 Pro line-up. While Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and other tipsters had previously pointed to experiments with a red finish, the eventual hue is understood to be richer and more subdued, closer to a wine shade rather than a brighter, fruit-inspired red.
Apple is experimenting with two further colour choices for the upcoming Pro models. A Light Blue variant is reportedly in development, alongside a darker grey option. Meanwhile, a classic silver version is also expected to return.
