WPL 2026: After languishing at the bottom of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 points table, Delhi Capitals made a strong comeback with a crucial win over defending champions Mumbai Indians on Jan. 20. Jemimah Rodrigues starred with a half-century to guide Delhi to a much-needed victory.

The WPL group stage has just seven matches left before the eliminator on Feb. 3. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, champions in 2024, have already marched into the playoffs after winning all five of their matches to sit comfortably at the top of the table.

The battle for the remaining two places remains wide open. Mumbai Indians, despite their loss to Delhi, continue to hold second place with four points, aided by a superior net run rate. UP Warriorz, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants are all locked on four points from five games, occupying the third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively, and remaining firmly in contention for the playoff as the group stage draws to a close.

Updated WPL 2026 Points Table:

  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Played 5, Won 5, Lost 0, Net Run Rate +1.882, Points 10
  • Mumbai Indians: Played 6, Won 2, Lost 4, Net Run Rate +0.046, Points 4
  • UP Warriorz: Played 5, Won 2, Lost 3, Net Run Rate -0.483, Points 4
  • Delhi Capitals: Played 5, Won 2, Lost 3, Net Run Rate -0.586, Points 4
  • Gujarat Giants: Played 5, Won 2, Lost 3, Net Run Rate -0.864, Points 4

WPL 2026 Playoff Qualification Scenarios:

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI cannot top the points table, as the maximum they can reach is eight points. For Harmanpreet Kaur and her team to make the playoffs, they must win their remaining two games and hope that at least two of the three teams currently on four points do not surpass them. If multiple teams finish with eight points, net run rate (NRR) will decide the rankings.

UP Warriorz (UPW)

After losing their first three matches, UP Warriorz bounced back, winning their next two games and climbing to third place on the points table. If UP Warriorz win all their remaining three matches, they will finish the league stage with 10 points and secure a playoff spot. They can still qualify with two wins, provided Gujarat Giants lose two of their three games and Delhi Capitals lose at least one of their remaining matches. UPW must also ensure their NRR does not drop significantly.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

Delhi Capitals need to win all three of their remaining matches to reach 10 points and secure a playoff spot. Two of these matches are against UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants, so winning them would place DC above both in the points table.

Gujarat Giants (GG)

Gujarat Giants won their first two matches but three consecutive losses have dropped them to fifth place. For GG to guarantee a playoff spot, they must win all three of their remaining matches. Winning two matches could also be enough if DC and UPW finish the league stage with fewer than eight points.
