RCB Introduces Free Metro Travel For IPL 2026 Match Days In Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced that spectators attending IPL 2026 matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will be able to use Bengaluru Metro services free of cost on match days, Moneycontrol reported.

According to the report, the announcement was confirmed on March 20.

How The Free System Will Work ?

Citing RCB officials, the report added that fans will receive a metro ticket along with their match ticket.

To access the service, ticket holders must scan the QR code provided at metro entry and exit gates on the day of the match.

The benefit is limited to one onward and one return journey on the same day. The QR code issued is non-transferable and can be used only by the ticket holder.

The nearest metro stations to the stadium are Cubbon Park Metro Station and MG Road Metro Station.

Sources cited by Moneycontrol indicated that the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited will receive upfront revenue as part of this arrangement.

RCB is expected to pay around Rs 100 per ticket, which will cover the cost of both onward and return journeys, particularly for group bookings, depending on ticket sales.

The initiative is also expected to reduce the number of private vehicles entering the Central Business District in Bengaluru during match days.

A similar arrangement has been in place since 2023 between Chennai Metro Rail Limited and Chennai Super Kings, the report added.

When And Where RCB Matches Will Be Held ?

The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League will begin on March 28, when defending champions RCB take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB will play five matches at their home ground in Bengaluru during the season, while two matches are scheduled to be held in Raipur.

How To Buy Tickets ?

Tickets will be available only through RCB's official website and mobile application. Fans can select the match, choose seating categories, pick seats using the stadium map, and complete payment through options such as credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking, or digital wallets. A confirmation message will be sent to the registered email address or mobile number after payment.

Offline tickets can be purchased from authorised counters at the stadium or designated outlets announced by RCB. Buyers must carry a valid ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, or passport, and can pay using cash, card, or digital wallet.

Entry, Parking And Shuttle Services ?

Entry for spectators will be allowed only through Cubbon Road and Link Road.

Fans will also have the option to pre-book limited parking slots while purchasing tickets. Parking facilities will be available at Garuda Mall, St Joseph's Indian High School, St Joseph's Boys High School, and Freedom Park.

Shuttle services for pick-up and drop to Cubbon Road will operate from these parking locations.

On match days, metro services will run longer, with last train departures from all six terminal stations extended up to 1 am.

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation will also extend bus timings and operate additional services to and from the stadium.

The combined measures, including free metro travel, extended services, and parking and shuttle options, are aimed at making travel easier for fans attending IPL matches in Bengaluru.
