After its emphatic 4-1 victory against New Zealand in the high-scoring five match T20I-series, Team India is now gearing up for the T20 World Cup 2026, which gets underway from Saturday. Co-hosting with Sri Lanka, India is entering the month-long tournament sky-high on confidence. India also completed a 30-run victory over South Africa in their only warm-up match ahead of the T20 World Cup in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.
The highly-anticipated T20 World Cup 2026 kicks off on Feb. 7. India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the US, defeating South Africa in the final match. This was India's second title win after the MS Dhoni-led side emerged victorious in the inaugural edition in 2007. At that time, India defeated arch-rival Pakistan in the nail-biting final.
This time, Team India is led by Suryakumar Yadav and plays its opening game against the USA in Mumbai.
T20 World Cup 2026: India's Schedule
The defending champions have been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, USA, Netherlands, and Namibia. It takes on the USA in Mumbai as they set out to become the first team to defend their Men's T20 World Cup crown.
In the group stage, the 10th edition of ICC Men's T20 World Cup will see the top two sides from each of the four groups then progressing to the Super Eights phase of the tournament that commences later this month.
After the USA, India is scheduled to play against Namibia in Delhi on Feb. 12, Pakistan in Colombo on Feb. 15, and the Netherlands in Ahmedabad on Feb. 18. On Sunday, Pakistan announced that it will participate in the T20 World Cup 2026 but will boycott the match against India. The Salman Ali Agha-led side begins its campaign on Feb. 7 against the Netherlands in Colombo.

All Team India matches will start at 7 p.m. IST. The Super 8 matches will start from Feb. 21, followed by the Semi-Finals on March 4 and 5, and the final match on March 8.
