The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to roll out the FASTag Annual Pass from Aug. 15, offering commuters a convenient way of travelling across highways.

The annual pass will be available at Rs 3,000. It can be used for 200 trips, or one year of travel on eligible highways. The pass can be used by the owners of non-commercial vehicles. This move aims to ease costs for regular highway commuters.

After 200 transactions or one year of travel, normal toll charges will apply. Commuters should note that the pass is linked to the existing FASTag account and cannot be used for another vehicle.

Days ahead of the launch of this pass, the government is offering pre-book facilities. Commuters interested in availing the FASTag Annual Pass can now download the Rajmargyatra app on their smartphones and book the service.

The passenger vehicle owners will be able to pre-book the annual pass for Rs 3,000. The pass will be automatically activated on Aug. 15. It will remain valid for one year.

Steps To Buy FASTag Annual Pass

  • Download the Rajmargyatra app from Google Play Store iOS App Store.

  • On the homepage, look for the FASTag purchase option.

  • It will show the option to pre-book the annual pass or recharge your usual account.

  • Click on the ‘pre-book’ option to purchase the pass.

  • Make the payment of Rs 3,000 through eligible modes.

  • Your pass is ready for use. It will be activated on Aug. 15.

Where To Use FASTag Annual Pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass will be valid only on national highways and expressways managed by NHAI and MoRTH. This includes major routes like the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, Mumbai to Ratnagiri, Mumbai to Surat, and Mumbai to Nashik.

It cannot be used on state highways or roads under other authorities. For an existing FASTag, the vehicle owners can apply for the annual pass without opening a new account. The annual pass can be linked to the old FASTag account if it meets the necessary conditions.

FASTag will continue to be used on state highways and municipal roads, but regular toll charges will apply as usual. Users should check route eligibility before purchasing the pass to avoid inconvenience.
