Shares of PG Electroplast Ltd. soared by as much as 13.71% as investor optimism surged around the possibility of a major Goods and Services Tax rate cut on consumer durables.

The rally comes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day announcement, where he hinted at sweeping GST reforms expected to be rolled out before Diwali.

As of noon, the gains of the three sectors in focus continued to rise. Maruti Suzuki led gains of the Auto sector, Nestle logged the most gains from the FMCG sector and the financial sector also marked gains with Bajaj Finance up nearly 6%.

On the back of GST Bonanza, the auto sector is seeing a notable surge today. Tata Moto is among the shares trading with gains on the back of the expected tax cut and consumption boost.

The scrip was trading 2.26% higher at 679 apiece on the NSE. These gains compare to the 1.27% gains in the Nifty 50.

Domestic market's benchmark Nifty 50 index reclaimed the 25,000 mark after volatile 24 sessions. The rally has been fueled by a confluence of three major factors, including expectations around sweeping GST reforms announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Independence Day 2025.
