The Indian rupee appreciated against the U.S. currency, aided by an upbeat risk appetite in the region.
Corporate dollar and equity portfolio inflows into the domestic equity markets also helped.
Most of the Asian currencies were weak on Wednesday and capped gains.
The rupee ended at 72.71 to the dollar against 73.36 in the previous session. Intraday high was 72.69.
The benchmark 5.85% bond maturing in 2030 ended little changed at Rs 97.19, yielding 6.24%, against Rs 97.20 and 6.24% yield at the previous close.
