October Auto Sales Live Updates: Bajaj Auto Total Sales Up 14%, Ashok Leyland Rise 23%

Escorts Kubota Ltd. on Sunday reported a 10 per cent year-on-year decline in total tractor sales to 16,921 tractors in October from 18,798 a year earlier. Its domestic tractor sales fell 10.9% to 16,412 tractors compared to 18,423 units in the year-ago period.

However, the company's exports rose 35.7 per cent to 509 units in October against 375 units in the year-ago period.

The industry witnessed some moderation in October 2026, impacted by a high base, shift in festive timing and monsoon-related disruptions. Elevated input costs due to geopolitical developments and consequent pricing actions may moderate demand in the near term, the company said in a release.

M&M Automotive business President Velusamy R said the company's SUV sales of 73,338 units and total vehicle sales of 13,1109 units in October were the highest ever in any month.

The festive season, together with a refreshed portfolio, kept demand strong across SUVs, pick-ups and three-wheelers. Our first CNG vehicle, the XUV 3XO ZNG, has also seen strong traction with customers, he said.

In commercial vehicles, three-wheeler sales, including electric ones, increased 38% to 17,632 units. LCVs between 2-3.5 ton grew 5% to 28,654 units, while sales of LCVs under 2 ton slipped 4% to 43,83 units.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Sunday said its total vehicle sales grew 9% year-on-year to a record 13,1109 units in October. The total sales include exports, which rose 77% to 7,102 units during the month.

Mahindra & Mahindra said domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 2% YoY to 73,338 units in October, and commercial vehicle sales rose 4% to 33,037 units.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Sunday reported its highest-ever total monthly sales, including exports, of 82,299 units in October, a 17.7% YoY rise. The milestone was driven by record domestic sales of 62,799 units, a 16.7% rise, and exports grew 21.1% to 19,500 units, the automaker said.

JSW MG Motor India on Sunday said it has registered 19% YoY growth in wholesale dispatches to dealers, reaching 8,013 units in October 2026.

In a statement, the automaker said it is receiving a strong response to the recently launched MG Hector Tomahawk EV and Windsor Indulge Edition, with customer deliveries gaining momentum across India.

JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor.

SML Mahindra sales figure for the month of October 2026 

• Cargo Vehicles: October sales stood at 532 units, up 5% from 507 units a year ago. For April-October FY27, sales rose 5% to 3,066 units from 2,929 units.
• Passenger Vehicles: October sales declined 3% to 533 units from 552 units last year. However, April-October FY27 sales jumped 17% to 7,339 units compared with 6,275 units in the year-ago period.
• Total Sales: October sales were 1,065 units, up 1% from 1,059 units a year earlier. For April-October FY27, total sales increased 13% to 10,405 units from 9,204 units.
