Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri's O'Romeo is here. While the screenings have begun today, the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial has already generated significant buzz, thanks to its star cast and the celebrated filmmaker's return to a romantic drama space.

Ahead of its theatrical debut, the film recorded promising advance booking figures and here we take a look at the numbers.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, O'Romeo sold over one lakh tickets across India ahead of its release. The reported number currently stands at 1,18,939 tickets, translating to approximately Rs 3.5 crore in advance bookings from standard ticket sales alone.

The numbers are expected to see a further jump when block bookings are included. With bulk bookings, the advance collection is projected to touch nearly Rs 5.9 crore. This indicates strong pre-release interest among audiences, particularly in major metropolitan markets.

The report highlighted that cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Pune and other key centres have contributed significantly to the ticket sales so far. The advance booking number suggests solid occupancy for the opening day shows.

Shahid Kapoor And Vishal Bhardwaj Are Back Together

Notably, O'Romeo marks Shahid Kapoor's fourth collaboration with Vishal Bhardwaj. Together, they have previously delivered critically acclaimed projects. Apart from the lead stars, the film also features Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Vikrant Massey.

If reports are to be believed, Tamannaah and Vikrant did not charge fees for their roles in the film. It is based on the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' by Hussain Zaidi. Vishal has also composed the music for the film and the two of its songs have been crooned by Arijit Singh. Interestingly, the singer has recently announced his retirement from playback singing.

O'Romeo has finally hit theatres on February 13. The censor certificate was issued on February 11 and it mentions the film's duration as 178 minutes and 41 seconds which is approximately 2 hours, 58 minutes and 41 seconds. Upon its release, Vishal Bhardwaj's film will clash at the box office with Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav's Tu Yaa Main, releasing on the same day.
