Aditya Dhar's directorial Dhurandhar The Revenge has made fresh changes to its theatrical version. The decision comes after the makers faced criticism over partially muted abusive words.
As a result, they have now removed or fully muted several cuss words that were earlier only softened. The film had already been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification with partial censorship, but many viewers on social media raised concerns. Responding to the backlash, the team has decided to make further edits, India Today reported on Monday.

“While the CBFC had cleared the film, the team did get feedback that it was high on cuss words, making some people feel a little uncomfortable. Taking into consideration and giving their audiences the best viewing experience, the filmmakers made the decision,” a source close to the film told India Today.
According to the source, the new print, released a couple days ago, has almost negligible changes. More cuss words have been muted in the new print. Along with Sanjay Dutt's gang war dialogue in Lyari, a few other characters' abusive lines were also softened.
Even as the film was released, many fans found it amusing that the makers of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge' muted some abuses but kept others, making the choice confusing.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh starrer remains a massive hit at the box office, crossing Rs 1,000 crore in India within 18 days and over Rs 1,600 crore worldwide.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge', a sequel to 2025 ‘Dhurandhar', follows Singh as an Indian spy navigating gang wars and a criminal syndicate in Lyari, Pakistan. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor and Sara Arjun. It was released on March 19.
