Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has now become one of the most anticipated sequels of the year. With Dhurandhar breaking records, Ranveer Singh's sequel for the same is on its way to cement another set of box office records. While the whole town is buzzing with excitement, Akshay Kumar recently spoke about Dhurandhar and Ranveer's roles in it.

Akshay spoke at an event about the differences in the heroes of today's generation and those of the previous ones. Describing it like a circle, he mentioned how the audience's preferences keep changing over time.

Mentioning the theme of Dhurandhar, the actor said, "Take a movie like Dhurandhar. It is a complete action film. The whole movie is filled with action and bloodshed. It's great. People have lapped it up; they have enjoyed it. And then you have a hero like Ranveer Singh who does full-on action, doing it with absolute confidence and pride."

"It's that complete 'angry young man' kind of image he takes on. This style had actually stopped for a while. I'm talking about maybe five or six years ago — the era of social films. The social films I did, like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha or Padman, used to do very well. So, everything keeps on changing."

Additionally, the conversation included whether Akshay regrets not being part of Dhurandhar, as he also fit the role, considering his actions and moves. "But then I don't think that Aditya thought that. I don't think he thought it, so I didn't get it."

He added on to say how actors often wish they had done other famous roles, but in a healthy way. "Many times when I meet Ranveer, he looks at me and says, 'Man, what a role you played, what a film that was. I wish I had done it.' So that happens."

"I mean, there are films he wants to do, and films I want to do. But look, sir, there are about 15 to 20 of us actors. And in India, about 180 Hindi films are made. So everyone has a role. Regret is just limited to that feeling of 'Ah! I wish I had gotten that too.' But there is no jealousy."
