Amid chatter on social media platforms after Raymond Group's MD Gautam Singhania flew back to Mumbai following the boat accident in the Maldives, his team said that the comments circulating online are disconcerting.
Singhania, who suffered minor injuries in the accident after a boat overturned near Felidhoo in the Island country, returned to India and is currently undergoing treatment.
However, Mahesh Ramachandran, the captain of Singhania's sea vessel and five-time Indian Rally Champion Hari Singh, remains missing.
According to sources, Manik Bhimsen Bhardwaj, who was also on the same boat, too returned to Mumbai and Jagdish Singh Aithani, another person who was in the boat, is still in the Maldives.

With Singhania returning to India and two Indians still missing after three days, social media platforms are flooded with various speculations and scathing comments.
Reacting to the chatter, a spokesperson for Gautam Singhania said that it is disconcerting to note the irresponsible nature of comments circulating with total disregard for the facts.
The spokesperson also suggested that the speedboat accident was due to serious mechanical failure.
"Gautam Singhania continues to recover under due care and is closely monitoring and supporting the ongoing search operations. We continue to pray for and support the friends and families of those affected.”

When the incident took place near Felidhoo. , there were seven people onboard — five Indians, a British national and a Russian national.
